Wire to wire winner. Golden Spikes for 2nd. Z humor got up for 3rd. Bad trip for Denis of Cork – slightly rank at the start and Leparoux lost his balance for a moment. Finished 5th with Atoned in 4th.

I agree with keeping it cheap. Can you believe Z Humor is listed at lower odds than Atoned? Ron Correll made a good point though that Rene Douglass is a fan favorite out there and will take some play at the windows. I just feel like it’s a sucker bet. I think it’s very debatable that he’ll even finish in the money. Looks like you feel the same way. :)

Recapture – Won mdn slow time at Haw and tired in slow time last 2. Trainer tried him on turf which he’s not really bred for.

2. Instill – Won 2 state bred races and his OP-8f paceline looks slow compared to the Southwest fractions.

3. ZHumor – Looks to me like a declining horse with some early speed. Pace factor.

4. Atoned – won a minor stakes at 8f which looks like his best distance. Hangs at longer distances.

5. Denis – IMO a standout favorite. I’ll make him 1-2 odds to win.

6. Gold Spks – Another pace factor with poor performance in stakes.

7. Real Appl – won a minor stakes, shows decent form and should improve.
