Did you see Proud Spell's trip? It was the trip from absolute hell. She had to smash on the breaks as she was totally blocked turning for home. Had a rough start as welll, then banged around a bit trying to swing wide and got DQ'd down to third if I remember correctly.

It was one of those 4 horse fields - which never seem to go as scripted.

I know I said I would take some time off from reading TT.....it's a habit though. Did you guys see this?
http://www.thoroughbredtimes.com/racing-news/2008/June/28/Game-Frost-Giant-delivers-mammoth-upset-in-Suburban.aspx

I want to be excited for Frost Giant, but some how the combination of IEAH, Dutrow, and a 40-1 longshot who hasn't placed in a stakes race since he was imported in 2006 ...but is suddenly more focused and doing really well (winning at the G1 level even)... makes me a little wary these days.

But then it was a day for upsets! Where were Tiago and Proud Spell??!

That head-on is pretty damning in my opinion as well. Wish I had faith in those "anger management" classes they are making him take - but alas, I don't.

If you that whipping incident is an accident I have a bridge to sell ya.

And does anyone else find it interesting that the two guys with arguably the two best dirt horses in the world right now are always in the news for the wrong reason? Naughty, Naughty.

Hmmm...a horse's eye when she is running is maybe 1 1/2 feet in front of her shoulder. He's been riding for a while, he knows where her shoulder is at.

Beyond that, it'll be a few weeks before I even pull up Thoroughbred Times again. I'm feeling a little disgusted with the whole thing. Some people haven't even got the sense to lay low when the S&%* is all stirred up!
