That being said, I’m not sure what else he could’ve done on Saturday. He doesn’t seem to have been aware of the Iavarone interview – either that or he’s too proud to admit it.

The most telling/troubling comment of all to me was when Iavarone said Dutrow replied “that’s not good for Dutrow.” Granted we’re taking Iavarone at his word that was the quote, and it may be out of context, but coupled with his other musings it certainly seems to suggest a self-centered individual.

I can’t argue with Ricks’ record – he sure gets horses into the winner’s circle with astonishing regularity and right now has two of the very best in Big Brown and Benny the Bull – but I do wish those horses ran for a trainer I could get behind more.

Thanks to his Curlin bashing comments, he’ll always feel like “the enemy” to me.

I shouldn’t be surprised that Dutrow will tell a bold faced lie on TV but to “play stupid” on the topic like he did has to have made things worse with Iavarone.
