Rock on Sally! Glad you hit that Cocoa Beach tri and got to see the first lady. :)

Cowboy Cal almost pulled off the upset for me. He came darn close. I still feel good about that pick. The risk/reward was almost perfect. Albhari didn't show up though.

Gayego - wow...you know I once had a dream that guy would win the KY Derby? Didn't happen...but dang that was good to see him back today. Him and the bad cat.

Kevin, I got you a poster today and some nice pictures of Zenyatta too. She is a very big mare. She was very beautiful with intense mottling even though she's so dark. (I think that's the word for those subtle spots of health.) First she paraded unannounced in the paddock, then a big presentation in the winners circle. She didn't like wearing the heavy blue wraps or shipping boots they had on her.

Like you I was pretty cool about seeing horses race today after reading about Wanderin Boy. But I really wanted to see Zenyatta. I followed your trifecta advice on Cocoa Beach, a horse I liked from Breeders' Cup, and amazed my husband when it paid nicely. Thank you. First time I've bet a complicated trifecta.

When we saw Cowboy Cal and Albahri in the Paddock, they just didn't look special. However I'd already placed my bets.

Oh, and Gayego set a track record!

If you email me an address I'll send you the poster, with thanks for the trifecta tip.

I watched Curlin win in Dubai, outstanding. I eyewitnessed Big Brown winning the Florida Derby from the 12th post, a feat not accomplished by any horse at that distance since the course at Gulfstream was reconfigured. Then again Big Brown from the 20th hole at the KY Derby. Was able to get a close up look at the aptly named Benny the Bull at Calder Race Course this summer. Of course, I watched Goldikova leave the boys in the dust in the BC Mile. To sum up, I've seen a lot of great horses and great racing this year, but Zenyatta, more than any other, is the horse that has impressed me the most this year. Amazing is the only word I can use to describe her.
