Great post - thanks for bringing back the memories of my O's heroes! Hadn't heard Mike Devereaux's name in a while. I remember former Oriole and Blue Jay pitcher "Flanny" too with that 67mph curve ball - he makes Moyer look like Randy Johnson.

Good job with the video, I could never figure out how the heck Eddie could hit with that stance. Dan Ford's stance worked great for me in backyard wiffle ball but not so much in hard ball either.

Lastly, I wish more people tried horse racing instead of meth :)

Drop me an email and let's team up on a baseball related post!

Damaso Garcia had a famous incident here setting his uniform on fire after a bad day on the job. There's a ton of great jays stories. Glenallen "spiderman" Hill. Mike "sleepwalking" Flanagan.

It was great to be a Jays fan back then.

I'm all for horse racing cards! Most tracks have some small commemorative sets...but a full-on Topps series would be cool.

Someone should bring wiffle ball back! That was a fun game. I never see any kids play it outside anymore.
I use to collect baseball cards also. I lost interest in baseball over the years though. The game moves too slow for me. In football the clock stops all the time.
I love soccer because of the non-stop action in the game. The fans are also incredible with the signs and chanting in the stadiums. Watch the World Cup next year from South Africa to see what I mean.
Horse racing is good, but they have not done much to grow the sport over the years at all. Horse racing cards would be a nice idea to get fans interested in it. Too much of the sport is also focused on the gambling part. That probably turns a lot of possible new fans off. It is always talked about with money. I watch it just as a sport.
Zenyatta will have a tougher time probably vs the males. It will be a fun race to watch though. She has a chance to win.
