Back by popular demand are my selections for the Preakness. We took some heat for our lack of expertise on the Derby, but today’s another day … and I love this race .. just like I love the next race after that …

Let’s get to the breakdown …

To me, this is a four horse race. Nothing else in there.

First of all, the Pimlico surface is a speed bias track, I don’t care what anyone tells you … it is. And in the Preakness, going a mile and 3/16 … I don’t see any horse closing from more than a few lengths off the pace.

Let’s start with the favorite. #13 Rachel Alexandra usually has her way with the pace of the race, and dictates the fractions … this won’t be the case in the Preakness, her first match against the boys. Look for Rachel Alexandra to be held a bit wide on the first turn, and be forced to settle back in about 6th place, until the half mile, when she’ll make her bid. Look for #1 Big Drama to dictate the pace, and hold a length or better lead turning for home. #11 Take the Points should be positioned well by Prado, and with the equipment addition of blinkers. Look for Take the Points to sit 4th on the outside, and couple lengths back, and wait patiently. In fact, you might even comment on the backstretch … “look at the hold on the #11″ … #7 Papa Clem is probably the horse to beat in here. He should sit mid pack, probably on the rail, around 7th or 8th place … Papa Clem will also have a strangle hold on the backstretch …

Don’t worry about the other horses, these are the only horses with a shot in the Preakness.

Look for #1 Big Drama to hang tough down the stretch, but fade late for third place. The favorite #13 Rachel Alexandra will make a big move on the turn, but will flatten out … finishing fourth. #11 Take the Points will take the lead in midstretch, and hold off the late run of #7 Papa Clem.

Projected Superfecta

#11 Take the Points 22-1
#7 Papa Clem 4-1
#1 Big Drama 16-1
#13 Rachel Alexandra 9-5

Go make a score … it’s easy money …

One time EDGAR!!!
