@Parliament - Love the gutsy selections! Always appreciate your in-depth analysis as well.

@Sally C - you know you made my day with your comment, right? Hope you have a blast in Colorado. Everyone I know who has spent time in CO says it's to die for.

@Zyskandar - I was hoping you'd swing over and check in. I see a lot of folks using Miner's Reward. Super aggressive! He'd light the tote board up for sure. I'll be pulling for you guys. I also think Gio Ponti has a great shot in an incredibly salty Man. Hcp field.

As for the Bird...if online indications are any suggestion, I'm thinking he might not even be the favorite come post time. Of course, with the name recognition he's garnered, that's probably impossible. It just seems like most everyone is picking either Charitable Man or Dunkirk.

Best of luck to you today.

@Mike - gotta love those Smart Strikes. Sometimes I forget that even Mine That Bird has some Smart Strike in him (his damsire). Eventing Attire was a great horse. Fab Strike might get an easy win today if Benny the Bull scratches....even if he doesn't he might need a race to get back in top shape. Very good shot today for a win.

Fabulous Strike is my favorite local horse after Naughty New Yorker. Those are the only two I follow that race on the New York tracks. Evening Attire was my other. He is retired now though.

In the WOODFORD RESERVE i like 5 Gio Ponti (G. Gomez/ C. Clement) 7/2. SEEMS TO FIT WELL WITH THESE. As regards the BELMONT like MTB on top with MINER'S REWARD, SUMMER BIRD, CHARITABLE MAN, and of course TODD'the-complainer'PLETCHER's DUNKIRK - all in the exotics. Hope to get 2-1 on MTB. GOOD LUCK.

What a treat (not a tweet) to read your thoughtful and enthusiastic analysis this morning. Race 10 seems just incredible when you read through the names.

I'm hoping it's going to be a great day for Garrett Gomez-- have you read his thoughtful blog over at NTRA?

I have to place all my bets early because I'm going to Norwood Colorado for the bush league horse races, where the bets are calcuttas, most of the horses are thoroughbreds and not all the jockeys wear shoes! But they only run there once a year. Hope to catch the Belmont on tv in town at The Hitchin' Post. Good Luck. Will miss your tweet action but will read it back next day.
