Back-to-lay Raktiman, Bobble Emerald and Montastic

3.20 Stratford

Raktiman has been running over all kinds of distances of late but finally got back to winning ways over 3m2f at Sedgefield on the 4th of March. He’s up just 3lb for that ¾ length win and the drop down to 2m6f won’t be a problem. He is quite an erratic horse in-running and can often lose his place mid-race to then recover, which has seen him trade low in-running in recent races; he currently trades around 8.60 for a back-to-lay.

3.55 Statford

Bobble Emerald is a speedy 2 mile hurdler that has traded below at least half his BSP in-running in his last 5 races. He is a strong front-runner who should get his own way upfront in this race; with Sioux Chieftain the other possible pace angle, with an interesting jockey booking in Sam Twiston-Davies, but has been off the track for a year. He looks to have a great chance of dominating the early stages of this race, especially dropping back in class; he currently trades around 9.20 for a back-to-lay.

4.00 Navan

Monastic is an interesting runner in this 2m6f handicap hurdle on his last run here over course and distance at Navan in in February. He travelled in to the race really well and was up right behind the leader going well until a collision at the third last caused him to lose momentum and he gradually lost ground on the leaders to finish ninth. He has a great record of trading low in-running and is worth chancing at decent odds to be thereabouts at the finish; he currently trades around 14.0 on Betfair.
