Check out the TBA home site for our most up to date standings:
I once reproduced them here, but it was a largely manual effort and I felt that the possibility of there being two “versions” of the standings (the official version on the TBA page, and my own invariably outdated version lagging behind the times) had the potential to downgrade their meaning. As such it’s simply much easier to point folks back to the TBA home site for the official standings as they currently exist.
To read the TBA’s official position on standings, click here. My personal opinion is that they help make the sport more relevant, similar to top 25 polls in College Football, and help highlight and more easily explain the importance of the larger stakes races. Especially the ones outside of the general public consciousness (i.e., the Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup Championship races).

I usually post my selections there early Saturday morning for the weekend’s big races.
